Learning Styles and Preference by Active Methodologies of the Different
Profiles of Discents of Accounting Courses

Resumo

O estudo tem como objetivo identificar e analisar a associação
entre os estilos de aprendizagem e as metodologias ativas,
preferidas pelos diferentes perfis de discentes dos cursos
presenciais de graduação em Contabilidade. Por meio da aplicação
de questionário on-line, obteve-se uma amostra de 838 discentes.
Os dados foram analisados utilizando-se a estatística descritiva e a
análise de correspondência. Os resultados demonstraram
associação entre estilos de aprendizagem, gênero, geração,
período de vínculo no curso, região e tipo de instituição de ensino
superior (IES). Também foi verificada associação entre
metodologias ativas, gênero, geração, região e tipo de IES. Tais
resultados fornecem evidências sobre as preferências de
aprendizagem dos diferentes perfis de discentes e possibilita que
docentes e IES busquem mecanismos para atender a essas
preferências, de modo a contribuir para a melhoria do processo de
ensino-aprendizagem.

Abstract

The study aims to identify and analyze the association between
the learning styles and the active methodologies preferred by the
different profiles of students of the face-to-face undergraduate
courses in Accounting. Through the application of an online
questionnaire, a sample of 838 students was obtained. The data
were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correspondence
analysis. The results showed an association between learning
styles, gender, generation, period of attachment in the course,
region and type of higher education institution (HEI). There was also
an association between active methodologies, gender, generation,
region and type of HEI. These results provide evidence about the
learning preferences of the different student profiles and allow
teachers and HEIs to seek mechanisms to meet these preferences,
in order to contribute to the improvement of the teaching-learning
process.
